I actually came here to ask if the artist had ever contacted you... guess not. That sucks. Have you talked to your editor? Three months seems like such a short time...

I managed to fling myself across the NaNo finish line on the last day (which launched me right into finals week. Oh, college.). Between NaNo and having my computer running 24/7 during finals, I killed my laptop and spent all of winter break without a computer... so since NaNo, I've written nothing. So much for goals.

You wouldn't be the Katica Locke who appeared over at the Pen and Paper forum a few weeks ago, would you? I meant to ask in my last post.

Yay! I finally got in touch with the artist. We've spent the past week working on the cover and I thing it's just about finished. It's not anything that I originally envisioned, but I like it well enough. It's eye-catching. Once the publisher has approved it, I'll put it up on my website so everyone can see it.

Oh, no! Sorry about your laptop. Glad you were able to finish NaNo, though. I'm still working on Broken Wings and it looks like I might not finish it until some time in February. It just keeps getting longer and longer, lol.

I think that would be me. I have this horrible habit of signing up for writer's forums and groups and stuff and then never going back.

Hooray for cover art! Eye-catching is good, it means people will pull it off the shelf. Can't wait to see it.

Hey, at least you have TIME to write. I'm jealous, really. And if it's alot, that means you have more to work with during editing. Is Broken Wings for fun or for publishing?

Yeah, I've done that too. Pen and Paper is fun, but no one really has time to read each other's stuff or anything right now. Plus, not a lot of active forum members...

I put the cover up on my website if you want to see it. It's on the page with the novel information.

I barely have time to write, lol. I've had to work every day this week, and I'm falling behind in my daily writing goals. Good thing we have a three-day weekend coming up (Yay for President's Day!).

Yeah, except that when I edit, my stories usually get longer, because I remember things that I forgot to put in the first time. It started out for fun, because I didn't figure anyone wanted to read another story about a magic school--I refused to write it for nearly six months because I've seen too many badly written "special school" stories, but the idea wouldn't leave me alone. Now I'm thinking that I'll probably try to publish it eventually.

I cannot for the life of me find a link back to Pen and Paper. I hideously busy, but I at least like to peek in now and again and see what people are saying, and I can't! I don't suppose you could hook me up?

Wow, the cover art really is eyecatching. And not at all what I might have expected. But I like it.

Pen and Paper is at z11.invisionfree.com/Pen_and_Paper
I think it's mostly me, Paul, and Casey posting right now... and no one's really posting any new work or reviews, too busy.

Hope your three day weekend was more productive than mine. I managed to do nothing for almost two days straight.

Do you know the exact release date of Magebound and whether or not places like amazon are going to have it?

Ha! I guess your twitter link to Amazon answered that last question. (I'm "I_am_Ilex" on twitter, by the way).
